"There is no longer any need to get away. Fulbrook has become both our home and our get-away."
Jess Hall, Jr., Fulbrook Resident

Long before Fulbrook, the Town of Fulshear was established. In 1827, a group of Americans came to live on land that was granted to Stephen F. Austin by the Mexican government. These people became known as the "Old Three Hundred". Among them were Churchill Fulshear and his family. Many years later the town was laid out and named for Churchill Fulshear, Jr. He was a farmer, businessman and horse racer.

Like the settlers who first called Fulshear home, today's Fulbrook residents appreciate life away from the dense suburbs, traffic and stresses of the city.

"To make it perfect, we are still close enough to Houston so we can enjoy the city when we want to."
Marybeth Cray, Fulbrook Resident

Since downtown Houston, the Galleria area and the Medical Center are less than a thirty-minute drive away, Fulbrook residents can easily commute to work, major shopping, sporting events and the arts. However, Fulshear itself has many conveniences that residents expect in a hometown. In addition to small town hospitality, historic ranches and a producing vineyard, there are churches, elementary schools, a post office, public library, doctor's office, dentist's office, banks, retail stores and the famous Dozier's Meat Market and Bar-B-Q. Fulshear Town Center, just opened this year, has revitalized downtown with restaurants, retailers and office space for businesses. There is much more development in downtown scheduled to take place, but all of it with the small town characteristics of Fulshear.

Here's what else the Town of Fulshear and it's surroundings offer:
  • Strong law enforcement by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department including a Police Chief in addition to Sheriff, and firefighting by the Fulshear-Simonton Volunteer Fire Department;
  • Your choice of a sound education for your children, from public schools, private schools or a well-developed home schooling network;
  • Membership available for Fulbrook residents at the Weston Lakes Country Club, with golf, tennis, swimming and dining facilities. Other country clubs, sports clubs and youth organizations, and equestrian stables and activities nearby;
  • Shopping, movies and more at Katy Mills Mall, Mason Road and West Oaks Mall, all less than fifteen minutes away, plus other big name retail establishments and over a hundred restaurants;
  • A variety of houses of worship throughout the area, representing most major religious denominations.
